Recurrent dull right flank pain, worse after meals

Multiple hypoattenuating small gallstones within the gallbladder relative to the surrounding bile. Also noted within the gallbladder are hyperattenuating gallstones.

Case Discussion

Cholesterol gallstone is one of the types of gallstones containing high cholesterol content more than the other types of gallstones. On CT, majority of cholesterol stones are hypoattenuating to the bile within the gallbladder. 

Oral contraceptives, sedentary lifestyle, genetic predisposition, ethnicity and diet are part of predisposing factors to forming cholesterol stones.
