Presentation

Shoulder pain.

Patient Data

Age: Child.
x-ray

Ill-defined lucency within the proximal humeral epiphysis. There is a subtle periosteal new bone formation along the lateral aspect of proximal humerus diametaphysis.

CT confirms an aggressive lytic lesion of the proximal humeral epiphysis with cortical destruction and ill-defined surrounding sclerosis. 

mri

MRI demonstrates an aggressive lesion that is T1 hypointense and T2 hyperintense. 

Case Discussion

The patient went on to have a resection. Histology confirmed the diagnosis of a chondroblastoma.
