Case Discussion

A chorionic bump is a rare finding during the initial stages of pregnancy. The exact etiology is unknown but may represent a hematoma arising from the developing intervillous space or necrosis in the decidualized endometrium.

The impact of this finding on fetal development or pregnancy complications remains unclear. Therefore, close monitoring is advised. It is worth noting that an enlarging chorionic bump is associated with an increased risk of miscarriage and a strong association with partial mole.
