Choroid plexus xanthogranuloma

Patient referred to neurology clinic with chronic headache and this CT scan is the first imaging for evaluation.

Patient Data

Age: 58
Gender: Female

Bilateral choroid plexus lesions with similar density of the adjacent normal choroid plexus structure.

Case Discussion

Choroid plexus xanthogranulomas usually are asymptomatic lesions, but rarely they are large enough to cause local mass effect or may be complicated by hemorrhage. On CT the main differential is cysts of the choroid plexus.
