Chronic difficulty emptying bladder; history of conus medullaris epidermoid cyst resection.

Patient Data

Age: 18 years
Gender: Male
Fluoroscopy

Tree-shaped urinary bladder with wall hypertrophy which causes an irregular outline. Features compatible with Christmas tree appearance.

Case Discussion

A Christmas tree bladder is a cystographic appearance which is usually seen in severe neurogenic bladder with increased sphincter tone. It's not pathognomonic and may also be seen in bladder neck obstruction due to non-neurogenic causes.
