There is severe bilateral acetabular dysplasia and anterior dislocation of both hips with superior displacement. There is severe osteopaenia or lysis or both femoral heads, presumably due to long term non-weight loading.
Case Discussion
This case demonstrates the appearance of longstanding untreated developmental dysplasia of the hips.
This patient was diagnosed in her twenties and never treated. At the age of 80, she was still quite mobile with a fairly normal gait.
