Presentation

Discharge from the skin of the right mid thigh.

Patient Data

Age: 65 years
Gender: Female

Sclerosis of the femoral diaphysis with expansion cortical irregularity.

Centrally is a well defined sclerotic ossific fragment with a lucent surrounding rim.

Case Discussion

A typical case of chronic osteomyelitis with a beautifully illustrated central sequestrum.   The patient had chronic osteomyelitis dating back for more than a decade.
