Presentation

Left ear otorrhea and hearing loss.

Patient Data

Age: 55 years
Gender: Female

Soft tissue density material occupying partially the left middle ear cavity without ossicular chain destruction

Mastoid air cells are partially obliterated on this side as well

Soft tissue density at left external auditory canal due to cerumen impaction.

Case Discussion

Patient with a 6 years history of ear discharge demonstrates opacification of the left middle ear cavity that extends into the mastoid air cells.

CT finding in keeping with left-sided chronic otitis media with mastoid effusion.

No signs of bone erosion to suggest cholesteatoma.
