Presentation

Recurrent earache with nasal discharge. Hearing loss on the right side.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Female

Cloudy and opacified right meso-tympanum as well as corresponding hypo and epitympanum. The corresponding ossicles are destroyed on the right side. Sclerosis and lost aeration of right mastoid air cells. 

Case Discussion

Right middle ear soft tissue opacity with corresponding ossicular destruction. Sclerosis and loss of aeration of the mastoid air cells. The scutum is still preserved, one of the most important distinguishing features of chronic otitis media from cholesteatoma formation.
