Extrahepatic bile ducts are mildly dilated and the common bile duct (CBD) measured 9 mm in caliber. An 8 mm hyperdense focus can be seen in the distal common bile duct, suggestive of a stone.

The pancreatic duct is mildly dilated. Additionally, several small calcified foci are observed in the pancreas parenchyma inferring chronic pancreatitis.

Case Discussion

CT features of chronic pancreatitis include pancreatic calcification, pancreatic atrophic changes, and dilatation of the main pancreatic duct.

Pancreatic pseudocysts may also be seen in some cases.
