Chronic subdural collection with an arachnoid cyst

Presentation

Follow-up CT scan three weeks after a car accident injury. No neurological symptoms before the injury.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Male

Left frontotemporal CSF density mass typical of an arachnoid cyst. Low density left fronto-parietal fluid collection measuring up to 11 mm in thickness corresponding to a chronic subdural collection. No midline shift.

Case Discussion

This is a case of a likely arachnoid cyst associated with a chronic subdural collection seen after a car accident injury. The patient presented with a chronic headache after the accident. Conservative managment was decided by the surgeon.
