Case Discussion

The subdural hematoma is discussed with the extradural hematoma both are extra-axial hemorrhages. Subdural hematoma is typically crescentic (banana-shaped) whereas the extradural hematoma is typically lentiform (lemon-shaped). The density of the hemorrhage depends on its age. It is a high density for acute, approaches the brain density for subacute, and the CSF density for chronic.
