Unexplained weight loss.

Patient Data

Age: 60 years
Gender: Male

3.8 cm hyperattenuating cyst in the right lobe of the liver without vascular enhancement. Cyst measures 50-56 Hounsfield units in all phases. 

Case Discussion

Ciliated hepatic foregut duplication cysts are usually less than 3 cm and are most often located in the subcapsular area of segment IV. Findings on CT vary due to cyst contents ranging from clear serous fluid to denser mucinous fluid. Lesions are usually non-enhancing. 

Further evaluation with ultrasound and MRI of the liver is recommended in this case.
