Diagnosis almost certain


Abdominal pain and elevated liver enzymes.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Female

The liver is atrophic and has nodular margins in keeping with cirrhosis. No hepatic mass is identified in the current study.

Dilated collateral vessels are seen in upper perigastric and splenorenal regions suggesting portal hypertension.

The spleen is markedly enlarged and its cephalocaudal height is measured 225 mm. Areas of coarse calcifications are seen at the lower pole of the spleen.

A tiny amount of free fluid is present in the pelvis.
