Presentation

Left shoulder pain after direct trauma while playing football (soccer).

Patient Data

Age: 17 years
Gender: Male
x-ray

The radiograph shows a midshaft clavicular fracture. There is an important shortening of the clavicle.

Case Discussion

Most clavicle fractures occur in the middle third and are treated conservatively. Shortening greater than 2 cm is a relative indication of surgery.
