Presentation

Cervical pain and prior history of trauma.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Male
x-ray

Old un-united fractures with mild displacement of the spinous process of C7 and T1 vertebrae consistent with a probable prior Clay-shoveler fracture. 

Case Discussion

Old un-united Clay-shoveler fractures in a young man. Often these injuries are unrecognised at the time and only found incidentally years later when the cervical spine is imaged for other reasons.
