Left forefoot pain when walking.

Patient Data

Age: 13 years
Gender: Female
Modality: X-ray

Left great toe proximal phalanx cleft epiphysis.  Otherwise normal examination.

Case Discussion

There is a left sided cleft epiphysis which is a normal developmental variant and should not be misdiagnosed as a fracture in the setting of trauma.
