Patient Data
Abnormal craniofacial appearance with cloverleaf skull secondary to premature closure of the sagittal, lambdoid and coronal sutures, with subsequent bitemporal bulging and a flat posterior skull.
Defective ossification of multiple areas of skull bones.
Biventricular hydrocephalus with ballooning of both temporal horns.
Left high parietal small meningoencephalocele.
Small posterior fossa with cerebellar tonsil herniation.
Midfacial hypoplasia.
Case Discussion
Pancraniosynostosis with premature closure of the coronal, sagittal, and lambdoid sutures with a subsequent cloverleaf deformity of the skull. There is also mid-face hypoplasia, which suggests syndromic etiology.
Cloverleaf skull or Kleeblattschadel skull represents a severe form of pansynostosis. It's an extremely rare disease.
It occurs intrauterine with closure of the sagittal, coronal and lambdoid sutures.
