Presentation

Hypertension.

Patient Data

Age: 20 years
Gender: Male

Concave contour of the proximal descending aorta. Normal heart size. Bilateral fifth and sixth posterior rib notching. Thoracic scoliosis.

Case Discussion

Aortic coarctation was confirmed with MRA as post ductal type. Echo showed the presence of a bicuspid aortic valve (a common association). Antihypertensives were ceased following placement of the aortic stent.
