Colocolic intussusception

Presentation

Pelvic pain.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Male
ct

Segmental circumferential increased wall thickness with colocolic intussusception and fat density lead point is present at sigmoid colon. No pericolic fat stranding and regional lymphadenopathy are observed. 

Case Discussion

Intussusception occurs when one segment of bowel is pulled into itself or a neighboring loop of the bowel by peristalsis. When occurring in the adult population, intussusception is usually caused by a focal lesion acting as a lead point.
