Increased wall thickness due to tumoral infiltration is seen in the splenic flexure of the colon, accompanied by pericolic fat stranding and several regional enlarged lymph nodes. There is no sign of local invasion to adjacent structures.
Additionally, a small thin-walled non-enhanced cyst is noted in the liver.
Case Discussion
Pathology-proven colon adenocarcinoma with regional enlarged lymph nodes.
It is worth noting that when reporting splenic flexure tumors, it is essential to assess and comment upon the posterior margins of the tumor. The surgeon will want to know if they need to resect the spleen and pancreatic tail.
