Left-sided abdominal pain for the last few days. No fever/ bowel disturbance.

Colonic diverticulitis

There is an outpouching from the colon in the left iliac fossa region. There is an acoustic shadowing due to the presence of gas. The colon shows non-circumferential thickening. Pericolonic fat shows significant edema. There is no abscess formation.
There are two diverticuli proximal to the above-mentioned lesion. However, there is no diverticulitis at these levels.
The rest of the abdominal ultrasound was normal.
Case Discussion
The case shows colonic diverticulosis with diverticulitis involving one of them.
