What is the hardware seen here?
Motility probe overlying the colon. Endoscopy mucosal clips are also seen which are used as anchors. No free peritoneal air is seen.
Case Discussion
Patient had a CT scan after this which showed splenic rupture and bleeding and intraperitoneal bleeding from the procedure. No free air.
The patient had a large volume hemoperitoneum from a ruptured subcapsular hematoma of the spleen following a colonoscopy requiring emergent ex-lap.
Procedure performed:
- Exploratory laparotomy
- Splenectomy
- Mobilization of the splenic flexure
- Abdominal washout.
