Colonic esophageal interposition

The lungs are hyperinflated due to emphysema. Minor fibrosis in the upper zones is longstanding. Colon with haustrations is seen in the right side of the mediastinum in keeping with prior esophagectomy.
Case Discussion
The patient had esophagectomy for a distal stricture. Colonic interposition was a routine method but is no longer commonly used.
