Presentation
Known history of colonic metastatic carcinoma.
Patient Data
Abdominal radiographs demonstrating a massive hepatomegaly. Bowel gas distribution is unremarkable, no dilation or signs of obstruction. There is a metallic stent within the left colon.
CT images showing the multiple metastatic deposits promoting a massive hepatomegaly. The colonic primary tumor within the left flexure is seen with a metallic extent preserving the lumen. Metastatic lung nodules are also present, partially contemplated in those images.
Case Discussion
Self-expandable metal stents (SEMS) are present in different models and suitable for different clinical purposes. This example shows a colonic stent preventing the primary tumor of obstructing the bowel lumen causing obstruction.
