There are tiny bone avulsions from dorsal side of middle and distal phalangeal base of the little finger. The little finger shows diffuse soft tissue swelling. There is no dislocation/bone lesion.

The little finger shows a bony avulsion of the extensor tendon central slip from the middle phalanx base. It is associated with a bony avulsion of the extensor tendon terminal slip from the distal phalanx base. However, the extensor tendon is intact. The litter finger shows diffuse soft tissue edema.

Asymptomatic 4th finger shows normal extensor tendon slips and bone cortex.

Case Discussion

The case shows combined avulsions of central and terminal slips of the finger extensor tendon. There is a history of post-traumatic left upper limb sensory-motor function loss involving affected upper limb. Direct trauma, as well as rigorous physiotherapy, maybe cause of these injuries.
