Pain and swelling to anterior knee following fall onto knees

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Female
x-ray

Comminuted fracture of the patella with lipohemarthrosis.

x-ray

Tension band wiring inserted to fixate the patella and prevent re-displacement, allowing proper healing to take place.

Case Discussion

A comminuted fracture of the patellar with lipohemarthrosis demonstrated on the radiograph.

Tension band wiring repair has been carried out.
