The common peroneal nerve is swollen with high T2 signal within it as it passes over the fibular head. High T2 signal is also seen surrounding the common peroneal nerve at this level representing edema. These findings are in keeping with common peroneal neuropathy.
Case Discussion
Common peroneal neuropathy is the most common mononeuropathy of the lower limbs with the most common cause being trauma 1.
