A common origin of the celiac axis and superior mesenteric artery is present.
A wedge fracture of L1 is also noted.
Case Discussion
A common trunk of the celiac axis and superior mesenteric artery is relatively unusual, seen in about 0.7% of the population. It is important for the surgeon to be aware of and should be reported, especially in the pre-operative setting.
