The teaching pointA solid homogeneous nodule in this case is to demonstrate what an intact halo looks like. Look at case  21888 forthe right lobe of the thyroid with a comparison of an absent "halo"complete hypoechoic halo.

This is a finding that needs to be present in all orientations of imaging around the whole lesion. Its favours benign cytology as an isolated finding.
