Presentation

Vaginal bleeding for one day and mild abdominal pain. History of amenorrhea for 3 months.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Female
ultrasound

A bulky uterus with an intrauterine mass with multiple cystic spaces having a bunch of grapes or a snowstorm appearance is noted. No intra- or extra-uterine gestational sac is seen.

The histopathology report confirmed the diagnosis of a complete hydatidiform mole.

Case Discussion

  • at the time of diagnosis: Beta hCG = >1125000.0 IU/ml

  • the patient underwent suction curettage of the uterus and was discharged on the following day in stable condition

  • the patient was followed up with serial Beta hCG, which returned to normal baseline level
