Distended appendix showing mural thickening measuring about 9 mm in maximum thickness is seen passing transversely reaching the umbilical abdominal quadrant
- its tip appears ill defined and seen merging with irregular shaped thick walled mesenteric hypodense cystic lesion/collection measuring about 5 x 2 cm along its maximum axial dimensions (dashed circle)
- associated surrounding smudged mesenteric fat planes are seen with prominent mesenteric lymph nodes
- such collection is seen inseparable from the adjacent jejunal bowel loop with related mild jejunal mural thickening, yet no proximal bowel dilatation or intestinal obstruction
- mild smudging of the pelvic fat planes is also noted
Case Discussion
