Presentation
Chest pain on the left side, dyspnea, and obvious productive cough for 18 days.
Patient Data
Large air-filled cystic lesion of approximate size 65*95 mm in the left lower lobe containing membrane-like structures associated with surrounding ground-glass opacities and focal pleural thickening.
The cavity communicates with left lower lobe bronchus posterobasal and posteromedial segments.
Case Discussion
Large left lower lobe complicated cystic mass containing a crumpled internal membrane, characteristic for hydatid cyst with bronchial communication. Hydatid disease in the lung is the second most common site after the liver.
Regarding the living in an endemic area of echinococcus granulosus, clinical and imaging findings, complicated pulmonary hydatid cyst is the final diagnosis.
