Absence of the posterior arch of C1 except for a persistent posterior tubercle. Normal facet joints. Normal alignment.
Case Discussion
With the absence of the posterior arch except for the persistence of the posterior tubercle, this is a Currarino type D congenital anomaly of the posterior arch. Given no specific craniocervical junction symptoms, this should be considered an incidental finding.
