Congenital cholesteatoma

Routine ENT examination revealed a whitish mass behind the tympanic membrane.

Patient Data

Age: 4 years
Gender: Male

Middle ear soft tissue attenuation, with scutum erosion and convex borders (best seen in axial and sagittal views) at its inferior margins.

The ossicles and facial nerve canal are normal.

Case Discussion

Imaging findings on CT are identical to acquired cholesteatoma found in adults.
