Congenital hypothyroidism on newborn screening

Patient Data

Age: Neonate
Nuclear medicine

9.76 MBq of Tc-99m was administered intravenously.  Cobalt sternal notch marker noted.

Normal uptake of radiotracer in a normal appearing bilobed thyroid gland in the expected anatomical location in the neck. If the baby is truly hypothyroid, findings would be consistent with dyshormonogenesis.
