Congenital lobar overinflation

Presentation

Respiratory distress.

Patient Data

Age: 5 months
Gender: Male

Hyperinflation of the right middle lobe and right upper lobe (mainly the anterior segment) with attenuation of the vascular structures within the affected lobes. Mass effect with retrosternal herniation and mediastinal shift to the left.

Case Discussion

CT features are suggestive of congenital lobar overinflation affecting two lobes in the right lung.
