Congenital rubella

Presentation

Deafness since birth and intellectual disability.

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Female
CT

Bilateral patchy hypoattenuation of the cerebral white matter is demonstrated with mild enlargement of the ventricles. No periventricular calcification. 

Case Discussion

This individual had documented neonatal rubella and thus features are consistent with congenital rubella.
