Congenital talipes equinovarus - antenatal

Presentation

Routine anatomic scan at 20 weeks

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Female

The deformity is apparent on the ultrasound images. Foot is medially deviated and is seen in the same plane as tibia and fibula. The sole of foot is not perpendicular to the lower leg.

Case Discussion

It was an isolated finding with no additional congenital anomalies.

Congenital talipes equinovarus or clubfoot is considered the most common congenital abnormality affecting the feet 1. It is seen in 1 in 1000 births, is twice more common in boys and is bilateral in 50% of the cases 2.
