Case Discussion
Congenital missing teeth are common with terms such as adontia, oligodontia and hypodontia variably in use. Most commonly absent are the third molars, maxillary lateral incisors and mandibular second molars. Congenital absence of the maxillary lateral incisors has an estimated prevalence of ~2% and can be hereditary.
