MRI demonstrates diffuse white matter signal changes due to gliosis and demyelination. There are multiple tiny peri-ventricular cysts and dilatation of ventricles are seen due to white matter volume loss. Cystic changes of the bilateral anterior temporal lobe white matter are also noted.
Scattered periventricular and basal ganglia calcifications noted in CT scan which are seen as hyperintense foci in T1W images.
