Presentation

Fall while ice-skating. Injury to the left shoulder. Concern for fracture.

Patient Data

Age: 54
Gender: Male
X-ray

No evidence of acute bone injury. Normal variant coracoclavicular joint noted. Mild degenerative change also evident.

Case Discussion

At the junction of the middle and lateral third of the clavicle is a prominent conoid tubercle that articulates with the coracoid process. This represents the coracoclavicular joint, a normal variant.
