Left elbow pain and swelling after trauma

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Female
x-ray

Linear lucency is noted at the tip of coronoid process of ulna consistent with fracture.

Anterior and posterior fat pad sign, suggesting the presence of elbow joint effusion.

Case Discussion

Coronoid process fractures of the ulna are uncommon. It may be diagnosed on elbow series, generally on lateral view.
