Frontal
Enlarged heart without pulmonary edema or pleural effusions. Multiple bilateral rounded peripherally dense nodules predominantly in the lower zones on the PA projection represent prominent costal cartilage calcification/ossification rather than pulmonary nodules. Unilateral left breast implant accounts for the increased density in the left mid zone compared to the right.
Case Discussion
A chest x-ray case with two observations which may perplex the inexperienced reader; prominent costal cartilage calcification and unilateral breast implant.
