Presentation

Trauma to the right lower anterior chest wall - 8 days back. Complaining of local pain.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Male
ultrasound

There is an altered contour/buckling of the right 10th costal cartilage at the site of pain pointed by the patient. 

Asymptomatic left 10th costal cartilage was examined for comparison. It shows a normal contour.

Case Discussion

Findings of post-traumatic right lower costal cartilage fracture. Xray is not going to be useful in such cases unless it is a heavily calcified costal cartilage.
