Coup-contrecoup injury

Fell after a seizure.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Male

A large right-sided scalp hematoma is present without underlying fracture. The subjacent brain is normal, however, the left inferolateral frontal lobe and temporal pole demonstrate hemorrhagic contusions.

This case demonstrates a typical coup-contrecoup pattern of closed head injury
