Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Male
  • comminuted fractures involving left temporal bone, extending to squamous and mastoid part of temporal bone

  • fracture of left occipitomastoid suture with pneumocranium

  • fracture of left frontal bone

  • right superior orbital wall fracture

  • acute subarachnoid hemorrhages at the right fronto-temporoparietal region

  • acute intraparenchymal hemorrhages at the right frontal and right temporal lobe

  • thin subdural hemorrhage involving the left cerebellum

Case Discussion

This case shows left sided fractures involving left temporal bone and left occipitomastoid suture (coup injury) with the contrecoup component being the right intracranial bleeds in the right fronto-temporoparietal region.
