Presentation

Six days self-isolating with fever. Progressive respiratory effort. Lymphopenic on presentation (1.2).

Patient Data

Age: 55 years
Gender: Male

Index CXR

x-ray

Mutifocal consolidation in right mid zone and left mid/lower zones.

No pleural abnormality.

CXR 12h after presentation

x-ray

Intensive care study; ET tube and right jugular central lines.

Progressive right upper and left lower mixed interstitial / airspace opacifications.

CXR day 6

x-ray

Persisting but improving regions of consolidation nearly a week after presentation. Remains intubated.

Case Discussion

Imaging demonstrating the rapid deterioration on imaging in patients with COVID-19 with respiratory failure. This patient was positive on PCR swab testing.
