There are large bilateral pure ground-glass opacities in the upper and lower lobes prevalent in the dorsal region, with peripheral distribution and slightly dilated vessels in the affected area. Ground-glass opacities with a rounded morphology are also present in the middle lobe and lingula.

On the right, there is a modest amount of pleural effusion in the inter-lobar fissure with thin fibrous bands in the medial segment of the ipsilateral lower lobe. No pathological adenopathies.

Nasopharyngeal swab report

Case Discussion

The chest film may be insensitive at the beginning of the disease. The main CT findings in pneumonia COVID-19 are ground-glass and consolidative pulmonary opacities, and these findings are more frequent with longer time from symptom onset.
