Presentation
Respiratory failure in COVID-19 pneumonia outcomes (two months ago).
Patient Data
CT chest without contrast
Pharyngeal swab COVID-19 negative. On the right lung, in the upper lobe and in the lower lobe, there are coarse fibrotic bands that extend to the visceral pleura with retractable scars like a "crumpled newspaper" with pneumothorax and modest pleural effusion. Bilaterally are also visible ground‐glass opacities. There is a solid lesion in the anterior mediastinum.
Case Discussion
Some lung damage can heal or evolve into retractable fibrotic scar tissue with shortness of breath and possible appearance of secondary pneumothorax.
